HomeBuilder Update

We have been closely tracking the evolution of the HomeBuilder Grant (see here and here and here) for announcements, eligibility criteria and more.

It is important to note that there are steps in addition to time eligibility which you need to complete in order to receive the HomeBuilder Grant.

Did you register for the HomeBuilder Grant?

If you are eligible for the HomeBuilder Grant, you also need to register for it. If you registered before 14 April 2021, you will also need to complete a comprehensive application form, available on the ACT Revenue Office Website (here).

This form requires detailed information about you, your purchase or renovation and supporting documentation. You will also be required to provide supporting documentation, including:

  • Proof of citizenship, age and incoming for the relevant financial year;
  • Contracts for the construction, renovation or purchase of the property;
  • Evidence of progress payments to the Builder (for construction of a new home or renovation); and
  • Evidence of Title Registration, a Settlement Statement, a Building Commencement Notice and a letter from the Builder, confirming they held a Building Licence at the relevant date (a template can be found here)

The comprehensive application form must be lodged with the ACT Revenue Office no later than 30 April 2023.
