With nearly two decades of leadership across both legal practice and property development, Louise brings unmatched perspective to property and construction law in Canberra. She is the only Canberra-based solicitor to have personally developed large-scale mixed-use, commercial, and residential precincts—experience which deeply informs her legal advice and sets her apart as a trusted adviser on complex, high-stakes projects.

Louise is the Principal Solicitor and Founder of Morris Legal Group, a progressive, award-winning firm she established in 2018 to serve the ACT’s property and construction industry. Since founding the firm, Louise has led over $3 billion in property transfers, advised on landmark acquisitions such as Garema Court ($71.5M) and Belconnen Markets ($40M), and provided ongoing strategic advice on retirement, childcare and mixed-use developments across the region. Her practice spans front-end construction advisory, planning, property finance, due diligence, and high-value conveyancing.

A recognised leader in legal innovation, Louise has:

• Abolished timesheets and introduced a fixed-fee guarantee;
• Built a “part-time first” workplace to support gender equity in the profession;
• Deployed automation to eliminate unconscious bias in hiring, significantly increasing staff diversity;
• Established generous superannuation and wellness policies to address structural inequality and support long-term financial security for her team.

Louise’s achievements are recognised in the Doyle’s Guide list of Leading Property & Real Estate Lawyers – Canberra (2020–2025), and she was awarded the Australian Property Institute Young Achiever of the Year in 2014 for her contributions to the industry.

Prior to returning to legal practice in 2016, Louise spent seven years as Director of Development at Morris Property Group, where she delivered over 1,000 dwellings, multiple mixed use precincts and created a national quality assurance framework that remains in use. Her experience spans every stage of the development lifecycle, from site acquisition and financing to post-completion asset management.

Louise is also a board-level adviser to institutional, ASX listed, not-for-profit and education sector clients undertaking redevelopment projects.

Passionate about her city and her sector, Louise is a current Councillor of the ACT Law Society, a longstanding supporter of NAWIC, and a community advocate through initiatives such as Salon Canberra and the Lifeline Canberra Giving Tree.

Outside the firm, Louise is a registered Muay Thai referee and judge, an avid knitter of children’s garments (quickly outgrown), and a committed champion for women in construction, business and sport.

Holly has been running residential and commercial property transactions as a paralegal and admitted solicitor for so long and with such efficiency that we have dubbed her the Deal Queen. Every matter is important. Every detail deserves attention. Every deadline is met. The combination of her knowledge, proficiency and her calmness under pressure are almost frightening.

Holly’s qualifications and experience span residential conveyancing through to commercial transactions and complex property restructures across ACT and NSW. Holly has worked in a range of legal services environments, from the battlefield of hardline NewLaw through to a traditional mid-size firm. Holly says of this experience, “It doesn’t matter what kind of firm you are at, the clients are always at the centre of your work, and I love helping them at such an important time as buying or selling a property."

Holly is a self-confessed crazy cat lady (but she is holding her own in our dog-friendly office) and loves living the life of a Canberra urbanist, with her beautiful and prolific apartment garden.

Raina believes in providing every client with a seamless yet memorable experience.

A skilled and accomplished practitioner, Raina has set down roots in Canberra after arriving from across the Tasman. Raina builds lasting relationships with her clients to guide them through their various interactions with legal processes over time.

With around 15 years in property law, Raina joins our team to provide expertise in our established practise areas such as conveyancing, off-the-plan and vacant land purchases, building contracts and leasing. Raina also brings knowledge and experience to Morris Legal Group which has enabled us to broaden the services we offer to clients, with the addition of Retirement Living to our repertoire.

Outside of her work, Raina enjoys travelling abroad and taking in culture, scenery, architecture, and delicious local cuisine.

Beth believes that making clients feel comfortable from the very first interaction lays the foundation for trust and great results.

With a decade of customer service experience across diverse roles and industries, Beth brings adaptability, efficiency and a can-do attitude to everything she does.

Known for getting the job done promptly, Beth ensures that every client receives a friendly welcome and peace of mind, whether it be on the phone, by email or in person at our office. Her favourite part of the job is getting to know our clients and sharing in the moments when they achieve their property goals.

In her spare time, Beth is a passionate traveller always planning her next adventure. She’s gone on safari in South Africa, swum in the fjords of Norway and mastered the art of making Paella in Spain.

Jodie believes that great support doesn’t just keep things moving, it helps people thrive.

With over 20 years’ experience as an accountant, including a decade in financial and operational management, Jodie brings deep knowledge and practical know-how to her role as Business Manager at Morris Legal Group.

She’s worked across a variety of industries, including law, media, and education, and has built a reputation for being the person who keeps everything (and everyone) on track.

Known for being a fast learner and a steady hand behind the scenes, Jodie supports our legal team by streamlining systems, managing finance, and ensuring the business runs smoothly so the lawyers can focus on what they do best.

Outside of work, Jodie is a self-confessed music nerd with a knack for naming almost any pre-2020 song within a few seconds, a talent honed from years in the radio world.

As a Chartered Accountant with 13 years’ experience in business advisory, insolvency and internal audit, Matthew is a natural problem solver with a keen understanding of business fundamentals. As Executive Officer – Systems & Compliance, Matthew’s mission is to help build Morris Legal Group stronger and more flexible into the future.

Spearheading strategic direction, systems and compliance, Matthew ensures that the team has everything they need to focus on giving our clients their best property journey ever.

In his downtime, Matthew is a keen musician and hobby woodworker – two loves which he has combined to start making his very own guitars.

Erin enjoys the challenges of a varied practice, taking as much pleasure in updating a developer on their project as she does handing keys to a first-time buyer when they settle on their new home.

In her spare time, Erin enjoys baking and has mastered a mean meringue. Erin has also been involved in the Canberra Burlesque community for 5 years, and loves entertaining on stage.

Mel’s career in the legal profession has been focussed on the precise and gruelling science of ACT property settlements, both in residential and project conveyancing.

Mel is excited about the possibilities for legal tech, with experience in leading software implementation and a keen eye on changes in e-Conveyancing in Canberra.

Mel brings great empathy to her work. She is studying towards tertiary qualifications in counselling, making her one of the most well-rounded and valuable property professionals we have had the pleasure to work with.
